I believe that using music and songs in the
classroom is a great way for teachers to achieve success with their language
learners. Music is one of the best and most motivating resources in
the classroom.
Songs enable learners to actively participate in the learning
experience. They contain authentic language, are easily obtainable, provide
vocabulary, grammar and cultural aspects and are fun for the students. They can
provide valuable speaking, listening and language practice in and out of the
classroom. Using music and songs also improves students’ overall view of the
language and their feelings about learning English, as they are more willing
and able to take in new information.
